STEP ONE
Getting Started

Reach out to schedule your free consultation. During this initial meeting, we’ll take the time to understand your vision for your custom home, walk you through our process, and answer your questions. Based on our conversation, we’ll offer personalized recommendations and connect you with the right resources to ensure a smooth and successful homebuilding experience.

We want to get to know your goals and preferences while giving you the opportunity to learn more about our company, our background, and how our Fixed-Cost to Build Custom Home Program works. We’ll start with an initial phone conversation, followed by a more in-depth meeting either at our office or one of our model homes. The more details you can provide during this time, the better we can tailor our recommendations and connect you with the right resources—whether it’s financing, land, architectural services, or anything else you may need. STEP TWO
PRE-CONSTRUCTION

Once you’ve decided we’re the right fit for your custom home project, we’ll move into the pre-construction phase. During this stage, we’ll finalize all the details of your home. This includes a thorough review of your plans and engineering, selecting your interior and exterior finishes, obtaining competitive bids from our trusted trade partners, and providing you with an accurate, all-inclusive cost to build. From there, we’ll collaborate with you to make any necessary adjustments, ensuring everything aligns with your vision, preferences,
and budget.

We’ve designed our custom home program around a Fixed-Cost to Build model, meaning that once the collaborative planning phase is complete and your budget is determined, the price to construct your home is locked in—giving you confidence and peace of mind that your construction cost won’t change.

STEP THREE
Contract & Construction

Once all the details—architectural plans, engineering, specifications, finishes, and the fixed cost to build—are finalized, we’ll move forward with the construction contract, officially selecting High Country Homes as your custom home builder.

Next, we’ll collect the necessary documents to initiate the permitting process and work closely with the local jurisdiction until your building permit is approved. At the same time, we’ll coordinate with your custom home lender to ensure they have everything needed to fund your loan. With permits in hand, site preparation and construction will begin.

PROJECT COMPLETION

Typically, your home will be finished within 8 months from the start of construction.

Once all final inspections are completed and approved by the local jurisdiction, we’ll take
you on a comprehensive walkthrough to ensure everything meets your satisfaction—then
it’s time to celebrate as we hand over the keys to your new home!
